Brake work in the bay

Pads, rotors, calipers and brake fluid. We pull the wheels, measure what's actually worn, show you the parts, and give you a firm number before any work starts. If your rear pads have a season left, we tell you that.

What it costs

Quoted before we touch anything

Brake pricing depends on your vehicle and which parts are actually worn, so we don't post teaser prices. You approve a firm number first. Parts we trust: Textar, Raybestos, Bosch.

Symptoms we hear every week
Grinding
Metal on metal. Pads are done, come in now.
Squealing
Wear indicators talking. Pads are getting low.
Soft pedal
Air or moisture in the lines. A fluid problem.
Vibration
Pulsing under braking usually means warped rotors.
Pulling
Drifting to one side when braking. Caliper or hose.
What to expect
  1. 1
    We inspect first, wheels off
Pads measured, rotors checked, lines and fluid looked over.
  2. 2
You see the parts, then the quote
A firm number before any work starts. You approve it first.
  3. 3
    Only the work you need
If something can safely wait, we say so.
What drivers say
The staff were very informative (he called me after I requested a quote online to go over my options), understood what I needed, and weren't pushy at all. Prices were very reasonable.
Jenny Pigeon · Google review, brakes + tire swap
Their staff and service were EXCELLENT. Fair prices and good quality work. Didn't try to sell me on stuff I didn't need which was awesome.
Dylan Such · Google review, first visit for brakes
Never an attempt to upsell, Nav will make recommendations and tell you when you may require additional service.

Brake questions, answered
How long do brake pads last?

Typically 40,000–80,000 km depending on how and where you drive. We measure them with every oil change.

Do I need rotors with pads?

Not always. If yours can be safely reused, we say so. We replace what's worn, not what's convenient.

Can I drive with grinding brakes?

Please don't. Grinding means metal on metal. Stopping distance suffers and the repair gets more expensive every day.

How fast can you get me in?

Usually this week. Brakes jump the queue — call and the receptionist finds you a slot.

Do I get a price before you start?

Always. We inspect first, quote you the number, and nothing happens until you approve it.
